There is always a certain amount of apprehension and fear when a person has to go to a Dentist especially when it is a Specialist.

I am a retired general dentist who is a seasonal Mt. Dora resident. I recently needed an endodontic (root canal) surgical procedure. Dr. Claus and her staff exceeded my wildest expectations for technical skill and thoroughness. Dr. Claus was extremely gentle, causing me no pain at all during the complex procedure and very little post-operative pain later. Her clinical and business staffs are extremely competent and helpful. After seeing General dentist and crown prep on #18 and #19 was referred to Dr. Claus for evaluation for possible root canal on 12/13. I had a scheduled appointment on the following Monday, but the pain persisted through Tuesday and my General Dentist was able to secure me an appointment for 12/15. Dr. Claus and staff evaluated and I indeed needed a root canal with expectation of nerve damage and possible infection. Dr. Claus offered to take care of this for me right then and there given that she didn't want me to wait through the holidays in pain. I had some issues before with the numbing and she recommended a new numbing medication that worked very well for me. She kept me in loop throughout the procedure and told me right away that there was no infection, nerve was dying and very fortunate she would be able to complete the procedure in one session. She and her assistant were very much in synch and her demeanor and professionalism allowed me stay relaxed and very comfortable. I highly recommend her and her staff. Dr. Claus saved my tooth, my money; and I had such an amazing experience that I cannot help but spread the word. Despite the extreme time constraints, my tooth got fixed, and I didn't even have to take more PTO from my job! Everyone there is amazing. They're very gentle, and were very understanding of my extreme anxiety/nerves due to bad dental care experiences in my past. They set me up with headphones, my preferred music, and made every effort to ease my nerves and discomfort during the process. They also collaborated with my insurance before the procedure to inform me of my financial responsibility for the procedure. For those who have HSA insurance, every dollar saved, is money available for future use. The excellence doesn't stop there! They even found me an in-network regular dental care provider to complete the crown, and offered to forward my information. They saved me even more money, time and frustration, because that's how awesome they are. I cannot thank you enough for restoring my confidence in the entire scope of dental care. If you can, give them your best attempt. You won't regret it.
